Students must be sponsored by a recruiter to move ahead in the Military recruitment process, regardless of completion of ASVAB testing.  Students 17 years or younger will require parental consent to complete the recruitment process.

High School Student Volunteer Opportunities at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus - Volunteering will give you the opportunity to get an "inside look" at a medical campus while learning about support functions in patient care and retail operations.  

The Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Explorer Post 1949 provides the opportunity for men and women between the ages of 14 to 20 the opportunity to learn about a career in fire and rescue. 

The Fairfax County Police Department Explorer Posts 1742, 2252 and 505 gives students ages 14 (and completed the 8th grade) to 20 the opportunity to explore career opportunities of law enforcement.

Fairfax County Police Department - Police Cadet Program - for individuals 17 1/2 years of age with any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to a high school diploma or a GED Certificate issued by a Board of Education and recognized by the Commonwealth of Virginia.
