Michele Law

Medical Assistant Teacher, HS

Hello!  My name is Michele Law.  I have been teaching at Falls Church Academy for 10 years.  When I first arrived, I taught medical assisting as well as Exploring the Language of Medicine with Anatomy & Physiology.  With the growth of the academy, I moved to solely teaching the medical assisting course.  Before joining the academy, I taught health and medical classes at FCPS Adult and Community Education, to adults who were pursuing a career in health care.  I have also taught CPR & First Aid to the community all around Fairfax.  In 2001, I graduated from William Jewell College, in Liberty, Missouri, with a Bachelor's Degree in the Science of Nursing.  While in nursing school. I worked as a phlebotomist at Liberty Hospital in Missouri.  As a graduate nurse, I worked at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City in the same-day surgery & recovery department and was there for 3 years before choosing to stay home to raise my 2 boys who are now 21 & 17 years old!  Prior to that, I worked as a medical assistant for 10 years and prior to that, I worked as a CNA in a nursing home, caring for the geriatric population as they lived out their final years – which is by far still my favorite!

I am currently taking classes towards a master’s degree in educational leadership, at Liberty University and will be finished Spring of 2022.  So ‘school’ is my life, at the moment.  When I am not doing school work, I enjoy time outside playing with and walking my sweet rescue dog Bruno, going on day or weekend trips with friends and/or just sitting on the couch binging on reality TV, Hulu or Netflix.  I am originally from the great state of Ohio and am a Buckeye.  My favorite thing to do in the Fall is watch college football.  Each Saturday from September to December, I am glued in front of the TV watching THE Ohio State University Buckeyes play and many of ‘the other’ college games.
