Academy Inclement Weather Policy

Academy Delayed Openings and Early Closings

  • Students attending the Falls Church High School Academy or FCHS students attending other Fairfax County Public School Academies should follow the guidelines below when there is a delayed opening or early closing due to inclement weather.   

Two-Hour DELAYED OPENING 

  • AM, MID 1 and MID 2 block class shuttle buses will not run.  
    • Students who regularly drive are asked to remain at their base school. Falls Church High School students will follow the Falls Church High School amended schedule.

Two-Hour EARLY CLOSING 

  • AM classes will run as scheduled.
  • MID 1 classes - buses going back to other base schools will depart no later than 11am.  Falls Church High School students will follow the Falls Church High School amended schedule.
  • MID 2 Academy classes will be canceled.
