Women in Homeland Security and the Transportation Safety Administration offered rare access for 13 Falls Church Academy Criminal Justice students with a behind the scenes look at the security process at Dulles International Airport and careers with the TSA. On November 1, Level 2 Criminal Justice students met at Dulles International Airport and joined TSA representatives through security check-points, displays of contraband from airline passengers and a meeting with K-9 and their handlers whose job it is to sniff out bombs and drugs attempting to be brought on aircraft.

Some students provided their reflection of the event that included; “On the trip to the TSA I enjoyed the amount of information that was given to us about career paths and options.  I also enjoyed seeing the technology that is used throughout the airport for security.” “I am actually considering applying to work with TSA after high school because of all that I saw really interested me.  I think it would be a nice way to start my career.” “It was nice to hear from the people who worked there to learn their opinion of their career path with TSA.”
