March is Brain Injury Awareness Month
Brain injuries are usually caused by a violent blow or jolt to the head or body. The cause can be an assault, falls, motor vehicle accident or sports injury.
Be aware of the common signs and symptoms of a traumatic brain injury (TBI):
- loss of consciousness
- a state of being dazed, confused or disoriented
- headache
- nausea or vomiting
- fatigue
- impaired speech
- abnormal sleep
- dizziness or loss of balance

- Therapies
